Nell Smyth (BA Hons from the University of Leeds, MA from the School of Oriental and African Studies and a post graduate qualification in Education) is a Waldorf teacher and trainer with 30 years experience as both a class teacher and high school teacher. She has worked both in California and Ireland, where she now resides. Her backgrounds include theatre, writing and Middendorf breathwork. She is the author of The Breathing Circle: Learning Through the Movement of the Breath and the recently published Drama at the Heart: Teaching Drama in Steiner Waldorf Schools. She has written numerous plays for children of all ages which have been performed internationally and included in the playshare repertoire of the Irish National Association of Youth Drama. Her passions include how we can integrate drama to be the engine for a cross curricular approach to learning and how our breathing and movement can enhance and deepen active learning in joyeous ways.
